Woman loses RM50,000 in savings to foreign lover

JOHOR BARU: In the name of love, a 35-year-old woman did whatever her man wanted.

She spent all her savings totalling RM50,000 and borrowed more money from friends to buy expensive furniture for their “love nest.”

For one and a half years, she obeyed her fiancĂ©’s “extraordinary” sexual demands although she considered such acts abusive.

The man – a foreigner – promised to marry her but his wife suddenly turned up in Malaysia in September last year. She also found out that he had two children.

The woman, who only wanted to be known as Fiona, was a waitress in a karaoke lounge but resigned shortly after she met him in August 2006 at the lounge.

“He promised to marry me and take care of me but he was just lying,” she said, adding that although the wife stayed in his official residence he carried on living with her until their break-up recently.

Fiona said that after his wife arrived, she and her lover – an engineer in Pasir Gudang – had several arguments, adding that he had assaulted her as well.

She has lodged three police reports since September.

Fiona said she decided to reveal her ordeal to warn others from falling into the trap.

She sought help from Johor MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau deputy chief Rodney Soon on Monday.
