Ali Rustam Going Overboard, Says SAPP
27 June, 2008
Sepanggar MP Datuk Eric Majimbun has described Umno Vice-President cum Melaka Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam's comment and support for the demonstration staged in Tawau as 'keterlaluan' (going overboard)."His (Mohd Ali) comment and support for the demonstration has offended the native customary law of Sabah and he deserves to be penalised and asked to pay a 'sogit'," he said when met during a relative's funeral service held at Good Shepherd Church in Menggatal near Kota Kinabalu, the Sabah Daily Express reported Friday (28 June).
Eric was responding to Mohd Ali's comment and support for Tuesday's (24 June) demonstration staged by Umno members in Tawau against the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).
Mohd Ali also hoped the party would be bold enough to oust party President Yong Teck Lee for "treachery" against the Barisan Nasional (BN), saying SAPP should leave the BN if they wanted to continue pursuing a motion of no-confidence against the Prime Minister in Parliament. (MySinchew)
