Decided to include this piece of news into this blog although it is about someone Malaysians have probably long forgotten. He is probably trying to make a bit of noise here and there. As long as it is not noise pollution, I think Malaysians can probably ignore him.

Kuala Lumpur, June 11 : Speculating substantial increase in the number of students obtaining outstanding results, Malaysian Indian Congress President S. Samy Vellu, has urged the Malaysian Government to keep at least 40 per cent of jobs in the civil service for Indians and Chinese over the next five years.
He said that eight per cent of places in local universities should be allocated to Indians.
Vellu added that in 2002, only 2.3 per cent places in universities were allocated to the Indian community and since then the number had varied with 5.2 per cent in 2003, 5.9 per cent in 2004, 5.6 per cent in 2005 and 6.1 per cent in 2006.
After meeting the Higher Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin at his office in Putrajaya, Vellu said the number of Indian students who had obtained outstanding results in their examinations had risen over the years, the Star reported.
