Malaysia PM suggests suspending international futures trading of crude oil

If suspending of futures trading of crude oil in the futures market can be done, then there will be requests to also suspend trading of palm oil, gold, steel, silver, might as well suspend all trading. It will be wonderful if we can all get everything at a cheaper price. The world will be a wonderful place to live. Control all commodity prices like what Malaysia did till everything goes haywire.

PM: Stop oil futures trading to beat speculation woes

KUALA LUMPUR: The international community should examine the possibility of suspending the trading of crude oil in the futures market to prevent speculative bidding, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

Speaking at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Roundtable here on Tuesday morning, the Prime Minister noted that such a measure would require negotiation and agreement at the international level.

“Some countries such as Japan have taken the lead in instituting such bold measures,” he said, referring to the country suspending the trading of rice in the futures market.
