(Malaysiakini) - Popular blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin may be called up by the police again after two Special Action Force officers accused of murdering Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu lodged a police report against him.
The two - Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar - lodged their police reports today denying they had threatened Raja Petra in the Sungai Buloh prison.
Last Friday, Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra (photo) - who was charged with sedition - decided to post bail after being receiving information from prison guards that his safety might be in jeopardy.
"The prison authority told me that they could not guarantee my safety because they had received some reports of threats and that Sirul and Azilah had shouted and said that something will happen to me," he told reporters.
Sirul and Azilah are currently being tried for the murder of Altantuya together with political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda. All three are currently remanded at the Sungai Buloh prison.
Raja Petra - who faces a sedition charge for an article entitled Let's send the Altantuya murderers to hell - had said he was remanded in the same block as the two officers after he initially refused to post the RM5,000 bail for his sedition charge
Azilah’s lawyer J Kuldeep Kumar confirmed that the two accused lodged their police reports today at the Shah Alam court complex together at 5pm.
"It was basically about the allegation Raja Petra made to the press that the two of them threatened him, that’s it," he told Malaysiakini.
No details
Raja Petra, when contacted, said he was ‘not bothered’ about the police reports.
"I have got two words - tak layan (not bothered). It is because all these fellows are so brave when they are in power but when we challenge them, they make police reports.
"They are like a bunch of school children. They can beat me up, whack me and steal my lunch money but if I take a stick and whack them back, they will run and tell the teachers," he said.
"Sikit-sikit nak buat police report (they lodge police reports over every little thing). They are just sore losers," he added.
However, he noted that he did not have any details about the police reports.
"Some friends told me that this was brought up in court (during the Altantuya murder trial hearing) today but I will wait and see what happens," he said.
