Gerakan Youth Makes Police Report Against Ahmad Ismail

Gerakan Youth Tuesday (9 Sept) lodged a police report against Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Ahmad Ismail for what they alleged as sedition.

The report was made by Tanjong Gerakan division youth chairman H'ng Khoon Leng at the Timur Laut police district headquarters at 12.30am this morning. "I hope the case will be investigated quickly and fairly, we have faith in the police," he told reporters after making the report.

Ahmad's statement, largely seen as a 'personal attack', had touched the sensitivities of the Chinese community in the country, Bernama reported.

Last night Ahmad held a news conference to reiterate his stand of not apologising to the Chinese community on his statement made at a rally while campaigning in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election.

State police chief Ayub Yaakob when met by reporters confirmed that a police report was made by Gerakan Youth on Ahmad's statement and that police will open an investigation file on it. (MySinchew)
