Our politicians are comparing our fuel prices with Singapore, Thailand, UK, etc.,
and 'hence, Malaysians are still enjoying low fuel prices'.............
Now let us compare the price with OIL PRODUCING countries..
UAE- RM1.19/litre
Eygpt- RM1.03/litre
Bahrain- RM0.87/litre
Qatar- RM0.68/litre
Kuwait- RM0.67/litre
Saudi Arabia- RM0.38/litre
Iran- RM0.35/litre
Nigeria- RM0.32/litre
Turkmenistan- RM0.25/litre
Venezuela- RM0.16/litre
MALAYSIA- RM2.70/litre
Even in Indonesia, which is a NETT IMPORTER OF FUEL and has recently
withdrew from OPEC, petrol is at RM2.10 per litre and RM1.95 per litre of
diesel (M'sian diesel is now RM2.58 per litre!!) ...that after slashing 30%
off their subsidy!!!
You can bet yer ass the government doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have good public transportation. We don't have fuel-efficient cars.
The government deliberately doesn't approve import of hybrid cars as it would reduce profits for Petronas!!
We should be preserving our oil-reserves, but does the government care?
